Retrieve the registration data (WHOIS information) for an Internet domain name. WHOIS registration data for the Domain Name System (DNS) are maintained by Domain Name Registrars and Domain Name Registries and contain registrant contact information along with technical details for each domain name registration. These records include administrative, technical, and registration metadata such as registrar information, creation and expiration dates, name server delegation, and contact data published by the registry or registrar.
Use !whois-dns to inspect the ownership and registration data of a domain name. This command focuses on domain registration records rather than DNS resolution data. For DNS resource records, use the
!dns command.
WHOIS data may vary depending on registry policies, privacy protection services, and regional regulations. This command retrieves the publicly available WHOIS information for the specified domain.
Usually, you do not need to prefix you query with !whois-dns and !whois should work just fine.
