Retrieve WHOIS registration data for an IPv4 address. Whois registration data for Internet Protocol (IP) numbers are maintained by the Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) and contain registrant contact points along with technical details for each IP number registration. These records describe the administrative, ownership, and allocation metadata associated with an IPv4 resource.
Use !whois-ip4 to inspect the registration and delegation details of an IPv4 address. This command focuses on IPv4 registration records rather than DNS resolution data, reverse DNS (PTR) information, IPv4 address analysis, or IPv4 prefix routing data. To analyze an IPv4 address, use
!ip4; to analyze an IPv4 CIDR block, use
!cidr4; to search an IPv4 address or IPv4 prefix in the BGP Routing Information Base (RIB), use
!bgp-cidr4.
WHOIS data may vary depending on registry policies, privacy protection services, and regional regulations. This command retrieves the publicly available WHOIS information for the specified IPv4 address.
Usually, you do not need to prefix your query with !whois-ip4 or !whois-ip and just !whois should work fine.
