Use !dns to generate a detailed DNS report for an Internet domain name.

The Domain Name System (DNS) is a distributed naming system that uses DNS resource records to map human-readable domain names to IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, other DNS names, mail servers, authoritative name servers, and other Internet resources and services.

!dns inspects the DNS configuration of a domain name and returns information about A and AAAA records, MX mail exchangers, NS authoritative servers, TXT records, CNAME aliases, SOA parameters, DNSSEC records, and other DNS resource records published in DNS.

The generated DNS report highlights the most relevant IP addresses associated with the domain infrastructure, along with references and supporting DNS data, providing a comprehensive view of the records currently published for the queried DNS name.

DNS names are hierarchical labels separated by dots and may include ASCII-Compatible Encoding (ACE) representations of Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). Queries may contain Unicode domain names, ACE labels, Internet hostnames, Internet domains, Top-Level Domains (TLDs), and other valid DNS names.

!dns analyzes DNS data available around the time of your query. DNS records may change over time due to updates made by zone administrators, DNS operators, registries, registrars, hosting providers, content delivery networks, mail operators, or other authoritative entities responsible for a zone.

DNS records may appear to resolve differently depending on the location of the client querying them, due to DNS propagation delays or differences in responses from authoritative name servers. During propagation, DNS resolvers may cache outdated records until their TTL expires. Additionally, authoritative name servers or geographically distributed DNS services may return different records based on the client's location, resulting in different resolution results across regions.

Results reflect DNS data published by authoritative DNS infrastructure or obtained through DNS resolution and should not be interpreted as proof of ownership, operational control, or endorsement of a domain, host, service, or network resource.

!dns supports Internet hostnames, Internet DNS domains, and Top-Level Domains. For example, "com" returns DNS information for the .com TLD and "cisco" returns DNS information for the .cisco brand TLD.

Usually, you do not need to prefix your query with !dns.
