Use
!ip4 to produce an information report for any Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) address.
!ip4 analyzes IPv4 addresses and retrieves detailed information about ownership, routing, registry allocation, geolocation, reverse DNS data, and Internet operational metadata. This command is useful for Internet troubleshooting, network operations, routing analysis, incident response, security research, and general IPv4 investigations.
IP addresses operate at OSI Layer 3 (Internet Layer) and are used for addressing, routing, and global Internet connectivity.
!ip4 gathers information from Regional Internet Registries (RIRs), BGP routing, DNS records, IPduh databases, and Internet registry information to help provide a broad view of an IPv4 address and its Internet presence.
Depending on the address and available public data sources,
!ip4 may provide registry allocation details, originating Autonomous System information, BGP routing metadata, prefix ownership, geolocation hints, reverse DNS hostnames, and related investigative references.
Special-purpose, private-use, loopback, multicast, carrier-grade NAT, documentation, and other reserved IPv4 addresses are also supported.
Usually you do not need to prefix your query with
!ip or
!ip4.
